Note: N2595 The Leaf Chronicle (Clarksville, Tennessee), 10 March 2013 Norma Meriwether Struss, daughter of Paoli and Norma Meriwether died peacefully February 4th, 2013 at age 94. She is survived by her four daughters, Ashe and Susan Macy, Sally and Kathy Struss, and her son, Michael Macy. She has five grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a woman of style who loved horses and animals, had a beautiful singing voice, bright smile and sense of humor. She loved summer picnics at Dunbar's Cave and taking us swimming at West Fork Creek at Barker's Mill. She provided a nurturing and loving life on the family farm in Montgomery County. Norma was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Clarksville where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. In her later years she lived in McIntosh, FL with her husband, Tony Struss and raised Arabian horses. Norma suffered from Alzheimer's Disease, yet was physically active until the end. Her daughter, Ashe fondly remembers long walks with her mother and dancing to Big Band music at the nursing home's Christmas Party only weeks before she passed. She will be in her children's hearts for many years to come and an example to live by.
