  Death of Mr. George N. Gilmer
 A life of more than unusual usefulness and beneficent influence, closed yesterday morning with the death of Mr. George N. Gilmer, which occurred in this city at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. E. Hannon. For more than half a century Mr. Gilmer had been a prominent and esteemed citizen of Lowndes and Montgomery counties. He was a Southern gentleman and planter of the old school; a man noted for liberaliity and public spirit and his character possessed many other admirable qualities. He was the father of Mrs. T. E. Hannon and Mrs. Chas. Hannon of this city and Mr. Morgan Gilmer of Montgomery county, and their grief is shared by devoted grand children and a large number of friends.

  FUNERAL NOTICE
 The friends and acquaintances of Geo. N. Gilmer and family are requested to attend his funeral this morning at 11 o'clock from the residence of Thos. E. Hannon, No. 503 South Perry Street.
