  On last Monday evening, at 6 o'clock, December 31, 1900, Josiah Meriwether, who resided one mile south of Dana, died of Bright's disease. He had been ailing for a year or more, but did not take to his bed until about two weeks ago.
  The deceased was born in Highland, Helt Township, and was about 60 years of age. A wife and 3 children - Jennie, Ann, and John - survive him.
  Mr. Meriwether was a good citizen and respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and always lived a conscientious, Christian life. No one could say aught against him. His funeral will occur today at 1 p.m. from his late residence. Rev. John E. Wright of the M.E. Church, for many years a near neighbor of the deceased, will conduct the services, after which his remains will be interred in the Bales Cemetery, 2 miles southeast of Dana.
