Note: N3366 CS Army, Civil War He enlisted August 20, 1862 as a Private in Company H., Eighth Calvary Regiment, Confederacy, and served from OLDHAM COUNTY, but he was living in Shelby County where he enlisted from 1860. It is quite interesting to note in that, most of Company H., consisted of men who lived in Shelby County; but Robert was deeply rooted in Oldham County where he was born; hence, he wanted his service to prove his birthplace, and the place where his father died. Note: N3367 Buckner researchers claim Robert was not born 13 Jul 1824 as shown by STLA and supported by the 1850 Census, but was not born until at least 1826. He married Willie Abbot, but is not the Robert M. Buckner, town marshall, married to William J. ____ in the 1860 Census in Paris, Bourbon, KY. Instead, Robeert has not been found in the 1860 Census. He enlisted in the CSA and was killed or died during the war and is buried at a location known only to close relatives. Buckner researchers also claim the date of death is incorrect or at least unsupported.
