Note: N13849 Los Angeles Evening Express (Los Angeles, California), 2 March 1894 DEATH OF JAMES K. GLASS ——— The Son of the Chief of Police Passes Away ——— James K. Glass, son of Chief of Police Glass, died this morning at 4:10 o'clock at the family residence, corner of Grand avenue and Twenty-second street at the age of 24 years The young man was taken down with the grip three years ago from which he never fully recovered. He would be all right in the summer but when winter set in the old trouble would return. It finally settled into consumption which ended fatally this morning. For a long time the deceased was employed as a salesman in Coulter's dry goods store, where he was well liked. He was cheerful, and greeted all his associates with the old-time gaiety up to the hour of his death. In the death of young Glass the Chief and his wife lose a beloved son, whose prospects in life were of the brightest. The time of the funeral will be announced hereafter

Glass, son of Chief of Police Glass, died yesterday morning at 4:10 o'clock at the residence of his father, on Twenty-second street near Grand avenue, aged 24 years, About three years ago young Glass had a severe case of the grip, from which be never fully recovered, and which finally developed into consumption. Young Glass was a whole-souled, generous boy, and deservedly popular among a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Notice of the funeral will be given later.

Note: N13852 Los Angeles Herald (Los Angeles, California), 5 Mar 1894, Monday LAID TO REST. ——— Funeral Services of the Late James K. Glass. The funeral services of the late James K. Glass, son of Chief of Police Glass, were held at the family residence on Twenty-third street yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Bert Estes Howard, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. A large concourse of friends of the young man and of the bereaved family were present to witness the last sad rites. The floral offerings were most beautiful, the one tendered by the police department being particularly so. The pall-bearers were M. T. Bowler, Henry Webber, Courtland Priddy, John King, Mr. Rudisill and Mr. Hunter. The interment took place at Rosedale cemetery. A long funeral cortege followed the body to its last resting place.
