Notes
a. Note:   N4394 Geo Wood Meriwether Estate, Mar 1916
 Posted 20 Apr 2020 by Oregon22
MERIWETHER ESTATE LEFT TO FIVE OF EIGHT CHILDREN
 ———
THREE NOT NAMED BECAUSE OF BEQUEST OF UNCLE
The estate of George Wood Meriwether is to be equally divided between five children, Joe [Josephine] and Mary, daughters, and Wood, Frederick and Lewis Meriwether, son, by his will, dated March 16, 1909, and probated in County Court yesterday. The value of the estate was not estimated by Lewis Meriwether, named as executor, and who probated the instrument.
Three other children, Blanche, Veona [Verna], and Georgia Meriwether were not named as beneficiaries of the estate because they were recently left legacies aggregating several thousand dollars by the will of their uncle, Richard Meriwether, and the testator said in his will that it was his purpose as far as possible to overcome the discrimination made by his brother to three of the children by giving his estate to the other five.
