  RICHARD P. GLENN
 Was in Business in Clarksville Many Years and Was Well Known Here.
  Mr. Jas. L Glenn received a telegram this morning stating that his brother, Richard P. Glenn, had died at his home in Mammoth Springs, Ark., from the effects of a sunstroke sustained yesterday.
  Richard P. Glenn was well known to the older citizens of Clarksville and his sudden death will cause universal regret. He was reared in Todd county, Kentucky, and came to the city before the war, going into the grocery business at the stand now occupied by Capt. Crusman, at the corner of Franklin and First streets. the firm name was Glenn & Carr, and they did business here up to, and during the war. the firm sold out here about the close of the war and Mr. Glenn went to Atlanta, where he remained for several years. He finally removed to Memphis and later to Arkansas, where he purchased a fine plantation. He recently rented out his farm and removed to Mammoth Springs, where he was enjoying the results of a successful business career when the summons came. He was about 67 years of age and leaves a wife and several children. He was a fine businessman and a christian gentleman.
  The remains will be shipped here for interment, probably reaching here sometime to-morrow.

  Died from Sunstroke.
 Clarksville, July 12. — [Special.] — Our esteemed townsman, James L. Glenn, cashier of the northern bank, received a telegram this morning stating that his brother, Richard P. Glenn, had died at 4:40 a.m. of sunstroke at Mammoth Springs, Ark. Richard P. Glenn was born in Todd County, Kentucky, and was 67 years of age. He was, prior to the war, engaged in the wholesale grocery trade of Clarksville under the firm name of Glen & Carr, and stood high in commercial circles. Since the war, he has been engaged in business in Atlanta and other Southern cities. He was a man of fine business and social attainments, and was most popular with our older citizens. His family, consisting of wife and children, have the sympathy of many friends.

  Will Reach Here To-Night
 The remains of Richard P. Glenn will reach here this evening at 7:25 from Memphis. The burial arrangements have not yet been perfected. The interment will take place, however, at Greenwood tomorrow evening or Friday morning..

  The Death Record.
 The remains of Richard P. Glenn were interred at Greenwood today at 11 o'clock, the services of the residence of Jas. L. Glenn and at the grave, by Rev. J. W. Lupton. Remains were followed to their last resting place by a large crowd of the friends of the family and by citizens who knew the deceased during his residence here.

  Death From Sun-Stroke.
 Hopkinsville, Ky., July 19.—News has been received here from Mammoth Springs, Ark., that Richard Glenn, a former prominent citizen of this county, died suddenly at that place of sunstroke, page 68 years. He was well known throughout southern Ky.
