  Died, at the Old Ladies' Home, at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, Mrs. Mary J. Meriweather, aged 77 years. Mrs. Meriweather was born in Kentucky and had lived in this state for the last 58 years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. H. Armstrong, of this city, and by two sisters, Mrs. Laura Wright and Mrs. Marion Wright, both of Carrolton, Ill. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence of A. H. Armstrong, 1520 North Fourth street. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 10-11-1896
  The funeral of Mrs. Mary J. Merriweather took place yesterday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A. H. Armstrong. The funeral was largely attended by friends and relatives. The pall bearers were: H. H. Beecher, John O. Rames, Nicholas Dobbins and Mr. Gough. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Ridge cemetery.
