  Nancy R. Bales, aged 46, wife of William Bales, of this township, died on Monday evening the 6th instant, of lung disease, which she had long been a sufferer, but able most part of the time to attend to her household duties and works of mercy, until she was stricken down with a severe pain in her lungs. But God saw fit in his providence to cut short her sufferings by calling her immortal spirit home to those mansions prepared for the faithful in that upper and better kingdom. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. D.S. Morrison at the house, which was crowded with sympathizing friends and neighbors, after which her body was conveyed to the Bales Cemetery, and laid away beneath a pure mantle of snow. She leaves a husband and 5 children, (most of them are grown), to mourn her loss. She joined the M.E. Church at the early age of 16, and ever lived a faithful member of the same.
