  From the book The Georgia Black Book, 975.8 D2969, ISBN 0-89308-291-0, by Robert Scott Davis, Jr., page 11, 298-9, "In Jones County, on the 28 February last, Nancy Wells, wife of Isaac Wells of Jones County, was raped by a Negro man named Jess, the property of James Malone. Jess is about 5 ft. 10 in. tall, of yellow complexion, one or two foreteeth are out, and formerly lived in Warren and Columbia counties. Issued 19 March 1811."
