Notes
a. Note:   Isaac Wells applied for and was granted a Passport to travel through the indian territory on 3 February 1812. Traveling with him were his wife and 4 children. Henry Wells also applied for a passport the same day. However at this time we do not think he was related to Isaac.
We know that Ann D. Wells was born in Georgia because Isaac Wells moved from Georgia to Franklin County, Mississippi between 1815-1820. In the 1820 Franklin County, Mississippi Federal Census page 40, he is listed as having two teenage daughters, of an age to marry within five years. Next door to Isaac lives Jacob Wacter who has a teenage son of an age to marry within five years. (Also listed with Isaac on the census were his wife other children.)
In the 1830 Madison County, Mississippi Federal census at page 99, Isaac Wells is listed and his family does not have a daughter living with him of the age as listed in the 1820 census. This is evidence that Ann is married.
In 1830 in Franklin County, Mississippi Federal Census page 160, WILLIAM J. W
DEATH: Samuel R. Wells was issued Letters of Administration on 19 Dec 1859 for the estate of Isaac Wells, deceased. (Attala County Mississippi Pioneers, by Betty Couch Wiltshire at page 97-98 (976.27)
BURIAL: Buried in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Leake County, Mississippi according to Alton J. Alawine. He said Isaac's grave is unmarked but has a stone there. It is located on the left just inside the gate. Directions to the cemetery: About 4 miles north of Marydell (on Hwy 25) on a rural road. Section 4, Township 12 North, Range 9 East.
