a. Note:   N7534 !2000: LTC(ret) Robert E. Dunfield, 14816 Cranoke St., Centreville, VA, 20120. Born on a cattle drive near Dodge City KS. Was a receiving checker for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad for 17 years. Came to Carson City from Ely in 1939 according to the Carson City Daily Appeal Obit 30 Jan 1943. Left ranch at Steamboat Springs, CO in 1910 due to crop failure. Day before harvest the crop was hit by a snow/hail storm which cut the crops to the ground. Moved to Salt Lake City where parents lived at the time and lived there until 1937. When the lease to the restaurant was not renewed they moved to Ely and then to Carson City in 1939.
