  !1900 Census: Cora Chinn (age 36, b. July 1863, single) was living in Dumont, Clear Creek County, Colorado with brother Raleigh W. Chinn (age 25, single) and sister Mary Chinn (age 20). Cora's occupation was given as "innkeeper." Cora's father was born in Kentucky, her mother was born in Ohio. The census record states Raleigh and Mary's mother was born in Iowa, so they were half-siblings.
  !16 Sep 1903: Miss Janette Seaton and Raleigh W. Chinn were married Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Lloyd, 3203 west 26th Avenue, Denver. The wedding was prettily arranged affair, the parlors being decorated with ferns, evergreen and carnations. The bride and groom stood under an arch of ferns while the ceremony was being performed by Rev. Petibone in the presence of only a few of the intimate friends of the young people. The bride wore a gown of white silk elaborately trimmed with handsome hand-made Irish lace, She was attended by Mrs. Smith of Denver. Miss Seaton is one of Georgetown's young ladies and has a wide circle of friends here. Mr. Chinn is from Dumont. Georgetown Courier, Volume XXVI, Number 1373, September 19, 1903.   !5 Mar 1918: Roll W. Chinn was born around 1876 in Iowa. His parents moved to Kansas then to Colorado in 1898. Roll settled in the Pyramid country in 1906. He became ill the last part of February 1918. Dr. Driscoll did not speak of the case as being serious but five days later he died from pneumonia. He was buried in the Pyramid Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, four children, a sister Mrs. Cotton, and a brother Talmage J. Chinn, all living in the area at this time. From, History of Hayden & West Routt County, 1876-1989.
  !5 Mar 1918: The Pyramid country in particular and the county in general lost a good citizen Sunday afternoon in the death of R. W. Chinn. Mr. Chinn had been sick since the preceding Tuesday and Dr. Driscoll did not speak of the case as being serious so the death came as a great shock to the family. Death was caused by pneumonia and it is thot (sic) that Mr. Chinn had been weakened by working in the mines for several years and had miners consumption to begin with. The funeral services were held at the house of Mr. Turner, the Pyramid postmaster and many friends and neighbors for miles around were present. Rev. S. A. Wright of Hayden conducted the services add (sic) burial was made in the Kreamel cemetery. A wife and four children survive the deceased the oldest, a boy, being 10 years of age. A sister, Mrs Cotton, a brother, T. J. Chinn live in this country. R. W. Chinn was born in Iowa 42 years ago, his folks moving to Kansas and 20 years ago when a young man he came to Colorads (sic) and 12 years ago settled in the Pyramid country where he owned a farm and a nice bunch of cattle and horses at the time of his death. A loving father, a good neighbor and true friend Mr. Chinn will be greatly missed but his memory will ever be held in reverence and esteem. Routt County Republican, March 8, 1918.   !5 Mar 1918: Raleigh W. Chinn, a well known ranchman residing in the eastern part of Bunker basin, near Pyramid on upper Williams fork, died Sunday, after noon, after an illness of a week with pneumonia. he had been a resident of that locality for about 17 years, and leaves a widow and four children, two sons and two daughters, from 5 to 15 years of age. A brother also resides at Hayden. The funeral was held Tuesday, burial being in the Williams fork cemetery. Undertaker W. H Bashor went to Hayden Monday night to deliver a casket to J. W. Scott, who came from Williams fork to meet him and who made an all night drive to cover the 30 miles distance to the late home of the deceased. The Routt County Sentinel, March 8, 1918.
