Has cared for younger sister and brothers, aiding in giving each a good education, is an expert in caring for mothers in childbirth, and is now caring for her aged mother and the baby son of her brother Joseph. From the Ham Manuscript, page 21. !20 Sep 1888: Mrs. E. A. Ham and three daughters, of Smith county, Kansas, arrived at Saguache last Friday. Miss Maggie, who has been at this place some time, returned to her eastern home a few weeks since and accompanied her mother and sisters. Here will be their home in the future. Services will be held for Mary Margaret Hamm Wednesday July 2nd 1941 at 2:30 P. M. From the Wells-Buress Funeral Home. Born at Atchinson County, Kansas, February 2nd, 1861. Died at Saguache, Colorado, June 30th, 1941. !There are two main grave markers at the Cemetery. 1. James H. Hamm 1865-1920. Mary M. 18/6/1941 and 2. Joseph W. Hamm 1875-1963, Eliza H., Mary S. and William H. Grave 1. marked by funeral marker only and it is not in very good shape. You can see the name of Joseph W. on the metal marker. All names on marker's have been added not too long ago. Letter from Cy Maez, 1996. !Hillside Cemetery is located about 1/2 mile southeast of the town of Saguache on Cemetery Road. To get to Hillside, turn east on Pitkin Avenue and drive approximately 7 blocks, turn left, go one block then turn right at the stop sign. Follow the county road approximately 1/2 mile to the cemetery entrance. Hamm graves are in Block F.
