Note: N1471 !Wife's mother was of mexican descent according to the Ham Manuscript. !Date and place of death from George Hillery Ham, RIN 1952. !1867: In 1867 James Fullerton married Filician Trojeo (sic Feliciana Trujillo), by whom he had ten children, three now deceased. Those living are: Mary, wife of Frank Crowley, of Holly , Colo.; Emma, who married James O'Brien, of Canon City; James B., who is in New Mexico; Humphrey, who assists his father in the stock business; Sarah, Feliciana, and Thomas. Mr. Fullerton adopted and reared a niece of Sapinero, who was the second chief of the Ute nation and ranked next in command to Ouray. Sapinero sold the papoose to Mr. Fullerton for a horse and an overcoat. He reared her as a child of his own. When she was twenty years of age she was taken with consumption and three years later she died. Portrait and Biographical Record of Colorado, Vol 2, pg 774, 1899. !7 Jul 1896: Died in Saguache, Colo., Tuesday July 7, 1896, Feliciana, wife of James Fullerton, aged 41 years, 7 months and 2 days. Mrs. Fullerton's maiden name was Trujillo. She was born in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, and came to Costilla county, this state, when she was 10 years of age. She was married to Mr. James Fullerton on October 21, 1866, and two years later removed with her husband to this county, and lived in this vicinity until her death. Besides her husband, several children mourn her departure. Mary, Emily (Mrs. O'Brien, of Canon City), James Humphrey, Sarah, Feliciana and Thomas. For a number of years Mrs. Fullerton had been an invalid and a great sufferer, and death came as sweet relief to the poor pain-wracked sufferer. The funeral occurred yesterday afternoon from the house and a large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place. The Saguache Crescent, Saguache, Colorado, Thursday, September 26, 1918. !1 Sep 1924: Former Crescent Publisher Buried Tuesday. W. H. Ham, former publisher of the Saguache Crescent and an old time resident of Saguache died at Salida last Friday and funeral services and interment were held in Saguache on Tuesday of this week. Wm. H. Ham was born in Atchison County, Kansas, April 21st, 1873. He came to Saguache in September 1888 and resided here until 1917. He learned the printers trade in the Crescent under R. H. Janes, and was publisher from 1910 unit 1917, when the paper was purchased by Chas. W. Ogden, the present owner. Several years ago Mr. Ham had a paralytic stroke, from which he never recovered and his death was due to heart trouble. Mr. Ham, who has been staying with his sister and mother at Salida, was feeling as well as usual, but had an attack with his heart Friday morning and never regained consciousness, passing away Friday night His mother, sister and Brother Joe and family of Saguache, were present at his bedside when the end came. His wife and son of Denver were summoned and came to attend the funeral. W. H. Ham was married to Sarah Fullerton June 1, 1903, and to this union were born two boys and one girl. Funeral services were held from the Saguache Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Milciating (sic). Burial was in the Saguache cemetery.
