a. Note:   N147037 !24 Jan 1916: Miss Myrna Nelson, who is to be a bride of the week was given a surprise shower on Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. A. Troutman on San Juan Avenue and North Second street. Mrs. A. H. Rouse, sister of Miss Nelson, and Miss Nell Willey, being the hostesses of the pleasurable party. It was a miscellaneous shower and Miss Nelson received many valuable and useful gifts for her new home. She is to be married next Saturday to Mr. Frank Bench, of Bostwick Park, and immediately after the ceremony the happy couple will leave for Kansas City, where they will probably reside.   !24 Mar 1931: Mrs. George Nelson, former Montrose resident, passed away Sunday Evening in University Hospital at Iowa City, Iowa. She had been ill for the past two years and in the hospital since December 15. She was 63 years of age and came to Montrose about 20 years ago and was a practical nurse. Left after a number of years residence in the valley went to the middle west. Came back and lived on Bostwick Park until two years ago when her bad health caused her to live with her daughter Mrs Myrna Bench at Clarinda Iowa. Survived by her husband, two brothers, four children. Children were Clive Nelson of Montrose; Mrs. Alvin Rouse of Carrizo Springs, Texas; Mrs Myrna Bench of Clarinda, Iowa and Clifford Nelson of Washington, D.C.. Internment probably at Seward, Nebraska.
