  !19 May 1919: Entertained at Dinner for Husband's Birthday. A pleasurable event was the delightful birthday dinner given on Sunday by Mrs. Clive Nelson in honor of her husband's thirty-first anniversary, and covers at the beautifully appointed table were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis, Mr. and Mrs. A. H Rouse and Roberta and Burdette Rouse. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Headington and George and Grace Headington and the host and hostess and Louva, Lois and Lorraine Nelson. Marguerites and Irises were used in the pretty decorations and the spread; was one of those delicious menus for which Mrs. Nelson is famed for serving. The afternoon was spent in social diversion, and all joined in wishing the host many happy returns. He was the recipient of several nice gifts.   !April 05, 2002: Lois Morlang Oak Grove & Riverside Elementary Cook March 11, 1915 - April 2, 2002 MONTROSE - Lois Morlang, age 87, a lifelong Montrose resident, died Tuesday morning, April 2, 2002, at her home in Montrose. Lois Nelson, the daughter of Clive and Alice (Troutman) Nelson, was born on March 11, 1915, at Montrose, Colo., where she spent her childhood years, graduated from Montrose County High School, grew to adulthood and lived her entire lifetime. On Feb. 18, 1934, Lois married Henry Morlang Jr. in Montrose, Colo. Henry preceded Lois in death in 1978 at Montrose. Lois was a cook for Oak Grove and Riverside Elementary Schools in the Montrose County Re-1J School District, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Montrose Christian Church. Lois loved people, gardening, knitting and crafts. She will be lovingly remembered and will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. She will be sadly missed. Surviving family members who were proud and blessed to share Lois' life include one son, Grant Morlang and wife Mary Jo, of Greeley; one daughter, Sharon and husband Darwin Lewis, of Seldovia, Alaska; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Other family survivors include two sisters: Louva Brown Stramel, of Montrose; and Melville Hagan, of Carson City, Nev. In addition to her parents and her husband Henry, Lois was also preceded in death by one son, one sister and one brother. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Monday, April 8, before the service from 9 to 10 a.m., with the funeral service in celebration of Lois' life to begin at 10 a.m. at the Montrose Christian Church, with Minister Ronnie Hanna officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose.
