A pleasurable event was the delightful birthday dinner given on Sunday by Mrs. Clive Nelson in honor of her husband's thirty-first anniversary, and covers at the beautifully appointed table were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis, Mr. and Mrs. A. H Rouse and Roberta and Burdette Rouse. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Headington and George and Grace Headington and the host and hostess and Louva, Lois and Lorraine Nelson. Marguerites and Irises were used in the pretty decorations and the spread; was one of those delicious menus for which Mrs. Nelson is famed for serving. The afternoon was spent in social diversion, and all joined in wishing the host many happy returns. He was the recipient of several nice gifts. Hamm of Arvada who was killed Friday in a highway accident eight miles west of Georgetown, have been set for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Howard's Mortuary. Graveside services in Grand View Cemetery at Montrose will be conducted by Lloyd McMillan of the Christian Church on Wednesday. Kinsey's Montrose Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Born June 20, 1918 at Montrose, Lorraine L. Nelson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clive Nelson. She attended local schools and was graduated from Montrose High School. On Nov 7, 1934 she was married at Durango to Thomas E. Hamm. In addition to her husband, who was seriously injured in the accident, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Barbara) Mitchell, San Antonio Texas; two sons: Thomas Edward Hamm, Pfafftown, N. C.; Robert Dale Hamm, Boulder; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, Montrose; three sisters: Mrs. Louva Brunner, Truth or Consequences, N. M.; Mrs. Henry (Lois) Morlang, Montrose; Mrs. Melville Hagan, Carson City, Nev. One brother is deceased. There are four grandchildren. Mrs Hamm had spent most of her life in the Denver area. She had been employed in the Air Force Records Center, was a past president of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary, and was active in Toastmistress and Jeep Clubs."
