Mauck and Cora Chinn of Arvada Colorado married in Goodland Kansas by J. R. Wonder at the Goodland Kansas Methodist Parsonage. !27 Apr 1940: "The secret marriage of Miss Cora Chinn and John Mauck was announced this week by Mrs. Cora Burton of 368 Second Street, an aunt of the bride. The marriage took place on April 27, 1940, in Goodman, Kansas, and was performed by the Reverend J. R. Wonder of the Goodman Methodist church. Miss Chinn attended the Arvada schools and is a graduate of Arvada high school. For the past five years she has been employed by the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Co., in their local office. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Mauck of West Valley Avenue. He is a graduate of Arvada high school and later attended Greeley State College and the Parks Business school in Denver. At the present time he is employed by the Gates Rubber company in Denver. The couple are making their home at 733 East Ralston Road. Address later changed to 6508 Ralston Road. !10 May 1941: Funeral services were held at the Arvada Presbyterian church at 2 p. m. Monday, for Mrs. Cora Chinn Burton of 308 Third Street. Services were in charge of Reverend I. Brooks Laumann and burial was made in the Arvada cemetery. Cora Chinn was born to Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Chinn, August 20, 1864 at Muscatine, Iowa. She was 77 years old at the time of her death last Saturday. She was an early settler in Colorado, moving to Dumont 55 years ago. She owned and operated a restaurant in Idaho Springs and later in Arvada. Thirty five years ago she was united in marriage with Hiram S. Burton in Arvada. Mr. Burton preceded her in death by several years. She was a member of the Arvada Presbyterian church. the Relief Corps of the G. A. R. and A. C. A. club. Surviving are two brothers, tow sisters and several nephews and nieces, one of whom. Mrs. Cora Chinn Mauck, of Arvada, was named in her honor. !1944-1945: He served in the US Army in WW II. Was sent to Camp Roberts near San Luis Obispo California for basic, then more training at Camp Chafee Arkansas, next to New York, and then to France. In France he was at Rouen for most of the time. Next went across Germany to Czechoslovakia. He was in the 16th Armored Division of the 3rd Army commanded by General Patton. Did not see combat. !25 May 1944: John A.
