!25 Apr 1869: Deed Perry Co. OHIO. Know all men by these presents that we Henry Nelson wife Martha Nelson and Catherine Nelson of the County of Perry and State of Ohio in consideration of the sum of eighteen hundred dollars to us in hand paid by Thomas Iliff of the State of Ohio and County of Perry have bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thomas Iliff and unto his heirs and assigns forever the following real estate situate in the County of Perry State of Ohio and District of Zanesville Ohio bounded and described as follows to wit Being the East half of the South West quarter of Section thirty three (33) in Township fourteen (14) of Range fourteen (14) containing eighty acres to have and to hold said premises with their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Iliff his heirs and assigns forever and the said Henry Nelson Martha Nelson his wife and Catherine Nelson for themselves and heirs do hereby covenant with the said Thomas Iliff his heirs and assigns that we are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid and that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatever and we will forever warrant and deferr the same with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Iliff his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever And the said Martha Nelson and Catherine Nelson doth hereby release and convey to the said Thomas Iliff his heirs and assigns forever their right of Dower and down said premises. !13 April 1884: Henry Nelson an old and highly esteemed citizen meets death in a distressing manner. Accidentally shot himself in the abdomen and died a few hours later. From Blue Valley Blade, Seward Nebraska 4/16/1884.
!14 Apr 1884: Sad Accident , A Farmer Receives a Fatal Gunshot Wound, From The Omaha Daily Republican, Seward, Neb, Apr. 14-- Henry Nelson, a well to do farmer, living two miles west of Seward, accidentally shot and killed himself yesterday forenoon. The particulars cannot be learned at this time, except that he was tinkering with his rifle and was sitting down and the chair or bench gave away and in the fall the gun was discharged, the ball entering the body about two inches above the navel. He died about noon, or within two hours of the accident. He removed from Saunders County in October, 1882, and bought his farm here at that time. He leaves a wife and large family to mourn his loss. !Buried at the Ashland Cemetery, Row 5, North to South, Saunders Co. NE. Henry Nelson died 13 Apr 1884, 55 yrs, 10 mos & 2 days. It is in the city of Ashland on Silver Street and about 28th Street. From I 80 east, take exit 420 (Hwy 63) north, turn right (east) on Hwy 6, takes you into Ashland, turn north onto Hwy 63, go into town, turn left at the light (4 way stop) onto Silver Street (west) go until Silver Street stops . Cemetery is on the left.
