Loyalist First Battalion, King's Royal Regiment of New York. Solomon Tuttle, born in New York Province, and was farming in Tryon County, New York at the outset of the Revolutionary War. Solomon was noted as a rebel deserter, and joined Sir John Johnson's first battalion in 1782, serving as a grenadier in 1782 and 1783. The first battalion was disbanded 24 Dec. 1783, and Solomon was granted land in Cornwall Township, Royal Township 2, for his loyalty and service. The First Heir & Devisee Commission has Solomon Tuttle claiming Lot 9 in the town plot of Cornwall. Solomon married Dolly Gallinger, daughter of Michael Gallinger Sr. in 1786. Children: Catherine Tuttle, married Martin Silmser, land grant dated 27 Dec. 1808. Olive Tuttle, baptised 22 June 1794. Married Robert Putnam.
