 MAJOR CLEMENT TUTTLE was born 29 June 1756 and died 26 June 1840. He removed from Torringford to Austinburg, Ohio, about 1821. While a young man he began studying for the ministry, but on the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, entered the army and served for several years. He was a deacon in the churches at Torringford and Austinburg for 50 years. His wife was ABIGAIL DUTTON, who according to family tradition was a descendant of Governor Bradford of Plymouth Colony.
