Notes
a. Note:   Transcript James and Ebenezer Crowfoot came to Preble from Salisbury, Connecticut in 1807. James settled on Lot 88 and Ebenezer on lot 55. James bought land of Joshua Foreman of the town Onandaga. He first built a log house and in the fall of the same year 1807 started a frame house. After the frame house was up through some carelessness of the workmen, the shavings caught fire and the frame was burned but the heavy timbers were saved in the meantime he had built a dam and put up a crude sawmill on his farm and when spring came he had lumbered to finish his house, a large two-story house which is now standing well over a century. In his house was a large room in which was held Episcopalian service. When James Crowfoot came to Preble it was still totally and his farm which was in the town of Talley James brought a large family of children the eldest, David, did not come until the next year, 1808 James' children were David, Cynthia, Joseph, James Junior Rachel, Cyrus, and Irene.
