a. Note:   Per Killeen Farrell ([email protected]): I think this Daniel Tuttle is the son of Jonathan Tuttle and Massa [or Mercy] Whalen. The Tuttles, including Daniel, filed land petitions in Upper Canada in the 1780s and 1790s. By 1800 the dad, Jonathan, is in Madrid Township, NY. He makes a Will in 1805 and it is probated in 1809. Daniel Tuttle is a named son in this Will.

 "Jonathan TUTTLE c1730s, a surveyor, 1762 by Benjamin MORGAN shows Jonathan TUTTLE sawmill near headspring of Philipse Mill River, Dutchess Co, NY--perhaps the same as signed the "Association Test" during the American Revolutionary period, which persons whose loyalty is the Revolution was suspect were required to sign at Marlboro, NY and perhaps the same as Loyallist near Fort Edward, NY who fled to Canada during or soon after the Revolution; 1778: Jonathan TUTTLE and others, having taken up arms with Burgoyne and now at Ballston, Saratoga County are ordered to return to US Troops. He had sons John, Daniel & Ichabod."
