Notes
a. Note:   Tuttle, printed & published by Tuttle & Co., Rutland, VT, 1883:
 p.501
"Lucius Tuttle, b. Cheshire, Conn., April 29, 1749; early in the war entered the service of his country as Lieut. of his Co.; was at Boston and at battle of Long Island. In 1777 at Fishkill on the Hudson commanded his Co. (Col. Baldwin's regt.) also at surrender of Burgoyne. After the war resided in Cheshire until within a few years of his death. He had the entire confidence of the community and shared largely in its offices and responsibilities. He was a consistent member of the Congregational Church in Cheshire 72 years and was a firm believer in the religion of Christ. He built the Episcopal Academy in Cheshire. He died at the house of his son Lucius in Wolcott, Conn., June 27, 1846, age 97 years, 2 months; married Dec. 4, 1773, Hannah, daughter of Lieut. Andrew Hull of Cheshire, who died Aug. 11, 1800, age 42 (gravestone). Cheshire Town Record says she died Aug. 14, 1800, age 46, which is probably the correct age and Aug. 14 the day of her burial. She was a sister of General Andrew Hull and aunt of Eudocia, wife of Hon. Samuel A. Foote, Gov. of Conn., and grand aunt to Andrew Hull Foote, R. A. U. S. N. He married (2) Sept. 29, 1805, Mary Atwater of Cheshire."
