 "Daniel Tuttle, b. April 23, 1798; the first white child in the town of Camden, and from 1871 till his death the oldest of that nativity. He died in Springfield, Ohio Oct. 25, 1877. He was a teacher of vocal and instrumental music; a prayerful and earnest Christian, and a deacon of the Congregational Church; resided in Genesee, Ill.; m. in Vernon, N.Y., May 28, 1817, EUNICE CARPENTER, b. in Conn., Feb. 21, 1801; died in Cleveland, Ohio June 8, 1834 (child-birth); m. (2) in Rochester, N.Y., Dec. 24, 1834, ALMIRA CORNELIA WILCOX, b. Utica, N.Y., Oct. 21, 1814."

 Death of Deacon Daniel Tuttle
 "The venerable Daniel Tuttle, (the father of the late Prof. Leon H. Tuttle) died in this city, at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Ashley at 120 York St, Thursday afternoon, at the age of 79 years. The funeral services will take place at the Congregational Church, at ten o'clock tomorrow morning and the friends of the family are invited to attend. The deceased was for a long time, a deacon in the Congregational church, and has always been much beloved for his many Christian virtues, by all who knew him. The cause of his death was a paralytic stroke received on Sunday last."
