An error in the 1870 census makes it appear that Lucy was the mother of Abraham Willmot (or Wilmot). This error was repeated in the Hitchcock genealogy and in other sources. Abraham Wilmot was her son-in-law.
Lucy's maiden name was Johnson, but her parents are not yet positively identified. Her first husband was Charles Tuttle (1777-1814). They married Feb 18, 1796 in Hamden, New Haven Co CT. Their only child was a daughter Nancy (1797-1875), the wife of Abraham Wilmot.
On Oct 6, 1815 in Hamden CT, widow Lucy Tuttle married 2)Ichabod Hitchcock, Rev. War vet (1756-1820). He died in Cheshire, New Haven Co CT and Lucy soon followed her children to Geauga Co OH. She lived with daughter Nancy and son-in-law Abraham Willmot on Claridon-Troy Road in Claridon Twp.
