  OBIT - The Otsego Farmer & Republican (Cooperstown, NY), Apr. 8, 1921, p. 4:
"The death of Charles J. Tuttle, one of Cooperstown's oldest and most highly respected citizens, took place at his home on Church street in this village, Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The cause of his death was heart trouble with which he had suffered for some time. Mr. Tuttle was born at Toddsville, May 14, 1844, the son of Harmon and Mary Duley Tuttle. After the death of his father he moved to Cooperstown with his mother when he was seven years of age and had since that time spent a long and useful life as a resident of Cooperstown. He enrolled as a drummer boy in the Union army, February 21, 1862, a member of the 66th Regiment New York Volunteers, and served until an act of Congress did away with the Regimental bands ... By trade he was a stone mason of exceptional ability, acting as a contractor for many years of his active life. He had charge of the mason work on many of Cooperstown's finest buildings including the gymnasium, Village Club and O-te-sa-ga and they bear witness to the value of his competence and faithfulness. He is survived by one son, William, his wife, Jennie Harvey having died seven years ago. The funeral will be held at Christ church at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Miles Lowell Yates, rector, officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery."
