The marriage of John Tuttle to either/or/both Adeline WHEELER and/or Hattie ERWIN, is very confusing, as on the 1910 census it is shown the 4 children are of the union of John and Hattie because it is shown they were married 19 years and all 4 children are under the age of 19, further Hattie is shown as giving birth to 5 children, but only 4 are living. In the 1900 census, Caroline ERWIN is shown as the mother-in-law of John TUTTLE, however, his mother was Caroline HUBBELL-TUTTLE and both she and the Caroline ERWIN were born in the same year of 1829. I think this Caroline was indeed John's mother--not mother-in-law. Did Adeline WHEELER die before 1893 when child, Fred, was born ?? Were no children born to John TUTTLE and Adeline WHEELER ?? In Alva Tuttle's book, Tuttle-Tuthill Lines In America, p.331, he states that John and Adeline's children were the 4 shown in the 1910 census !]
