  GEORGE BUSHNELL, the son of Stephen and Vincie (Tuttle) Bushnell, was born in Durham, NY, 17 Apr 1812 and was baptized in Sullivan, NY, 4 Aug 1816. On 4 Jul 1837, in Cass County, MI, he married Nancy Clark, daughter of Reuben and Nancy (Chandler) Clark. He was a farmer and resided at Niles, MI, where his first two children were born. About 1840 he removed to Lisbon where his other children were born. Nancy and George Bushnell had nine children: Elizabeth, Jane, Joseph, Joel, Julia, James, Ida, Nancy and Washington.
 George and Nancy Bushnell were some of the early settlers in Lisbon, Kendall County, IL arriving in 1839. History of Kendall County, p. 225 & Kendall County Pioneers
 During the Civil War, their son Joseph, enlisted in the 36th IL Volunteer Infantry and died in camp near Corinth, MS, 16 Jun 1862.
