  Genealogical and Biographical Record of KENDALL County, Illinois, 1900, pages 981and 982:
 "Stephen Bushnell was born in May of 1779 in Westbrook, CT. He was the son of Reuben Bushnell (Rev. War Veteran, "Conn. Men in the Rev." page 578)and Martha Jones. In 1811 he and his brother Reuben brought their young families to settle on the shores of Oneida Lake in New York. (Bushnell Cemetery, Sullivan, Madison County, NY) Reuben was a deacon in the Oneida Congregational Church.
 Stephen Bushnell was one of the early settlers in Lisbon, IL, coming in the year 1839. He purchased a farm in Lisbon township, where he remained until three years before his death, when he removed to Morris, where he died on 5 Sep 1867. "Stephen removed to New York when a young man, located in Greene County, where he married Vincie Tuttle, and settled in that county near Durham. Afterward he moved to Madison County, N. Y. "
 Stephen Bushnell (#290, page 154 in Bushnell Gen.) removed from Westbrook, CT to what is now known as the Blair Farm in Durham, NY. before 1806. He married Vincie Tuttle 20 Oct 1803, they had 12 children: George, Nancy, Harlow, Julius, Stephen, David, Cyrus, Lyman, Washington, Alexander, Paul and Simon. Their first six children were born in Durham, NY. About 1814 he moved to Sullivan, Madison County, NY where his other children were born and where he and his wife were members of the First Congregational Church. After 1837 they moved to Lakeport, NY where he was a shoemaker and in 1839 they removed to Lisbon, IL where he followed farming the rest of his life. Stephen passed away 5 Sep 1867 in Morris, IL and is buried in the Lisbon Cemetery. Westbrook, Middlesex, CT to Durham, Greene, NY to Sullivan, Madison County, Oneida Lake, NY to Lisbon, Kendall, IL to Morris, IL.
 Stephen Bushnell (#35/33), farmer, age 72 was living in Lisbon, Kendall County, IL in 1850 Census of Kendall County, with wife Vincy, age 66 and children: *Lyman age 28; *Lucy 25; *Jane 5; *Jennett, age 2; Washington age 25, Paul 21 and George age 11.
