"Daniel Atwater Tuttle, b. July 4, 1815; proprietor of a paper mill at Burnside, Conn., selectman of E. Hartford; missed an election for State Senator by only about 0 votes; m. July 27, 1842, Harriet Adeline (dau. of Joseph and Hannah Rogers) LOMBARD of Springfield, Mass., b. March 26, 1818; he d. July 17, 1882; buried Springfield, Mass.; only i. 1. LYMAN A., b. June 9, 1843; enlisted Aug. 14, 1862, served 3 yrs. and two mos. being he was offered a clerkship which is a much easier position than that of private soldier in the ranks; but he declined the clerkship for the reason that he enlisted to carry a musket, and he continued as he began to the end of his term of service. He was in seventeen battles and skirmishes, including that of Oluskee, Fla. In business with his father after the war; res. Springfield."
