a. Note:   from East Haven. Jacob Thorpe was killed in the 1779 British Invasion of East Haven. He may be the only North Haven casualty of the Revolution whose body was brought home for burial.

 Gravestone Inscription:
 In memory of Mr. ENOS BROCKETT who died Nov. 13, 1828, aged 75 years. Also of his wife HANNAH BROCKETT who died Feb 6, 1802 aged 49 years. Hail glorious gospel heavenly light whereby we live with comfort and with comfort die. And view beyond this gloomy scene the tomb a life of endless happiness to come.
Note:   Enos served in the Revolution. In 1779, he retrieved Jacob Thorpe's body
