James Wadsworth 9th Company of the Second Regiment commanded by Colonel Nathan Whiting of New Haven. The officers enlisted and began forming the company March 27, 1758. In an expedition against Ticonderoga and Crown Point, Jehiel was wounded and died either in camp or hospitol. The company lists him "killed" 22 Aug 1758. His son Joel was only two years old. FAMILIES OF ANCIENT NEW HAVEN, compiled by D.L. Jacobus, 1923, has 40 pages of Tuttles.
