March 29, 1788, d. in Springville, PA, March 7, 1879, age 91. Blackman's History of Susquehannah Co., PA, says: "He is now (1875) living with good health and faculties well retained, a very worthy and pious man. In 1868, being then 80 yrs. of age, he scored and hewed all the large timbers for a grain barn 18x26 for Mr. H. H. Sherman, laid out all the frame work, Mr. Sherman assisting some in the framing and also in the covering, Mr. Tuttle laying the lower floor in good common style. He has been an acceptable member of the Meth. Epis. Church over 50 yrs.; his life and general deportment an honor to himself and the church." An obit. in the White Haven Standard contains some add.: "He resided some years in White Haven up to 1850, and was a leader in local affairs, a member of the council on its organization as a borough, and for several years acted as Justice of the Peace for the township of Anson. He was named as one of the trustees by the Lehigh Coal and Navagation Co. when they made over the cemetery property to the borough of White Haven, in which he was buried. He was a member of the Meth. Epis. Church from 1820 to his death, 59 years. He joined the Masonic fraternity in 1816. He was everywhere esteemed a most worthy and exemplary man. His remains were brought to White Haven and were followed to the grave by a large concourse of our people" He married March 6, 1811, Jane Rosencrantz, b. Oct. 8, 1789, d.
