"Nancy Tuttle, b. Feb. 17, 1787; m. 1806 Return Ephraim Jones, b. in Stratford, Conn., 1779; practiced medicine in Hamden, Conn., ten or twelve years; a self-made man; served in the war of 1812; drowned in Stratford, Conn harbor. Mrs. Jones was living in Hanover, Mass., in 1871, and her letters to the compiler written in that year at the age of 84 yrs. show that her hand is still firm and her mind unclouded."
