Note: Suffolk County, New York, by Lucy Dubois Akerly, privately printed 1898, Newburgh, New York: The above 12-page document gives the following baptismal dates for Henry's children: John, bapt. 25 Oct. 1607, d. in England William, bapt. 29 Oct. 1609 Henry, bapt. 28 June 1612 Alice, bapt. 24 Sept. 1614 Elizabeth, bapt. 9 March 1616 ------------------------ The Descendants of William & Elizabeth Tuttle, by George Frederick Tuttle, printed & published by Tuttle & Co., Rutland, VT, 1883: p.xxvi (footnote) "The parish register of Tharston, Norfolk Co., England, says that Henry Tuthill of Tharston had John, Bap. Oct. 25, 1607; William, bap. Oct. 29, 1609; Henry, bap. June 28, 1612 (father of John of Southold). Dr. Hatfield, in his History of Elizabeth, N.Y., calls John of Southold, nephew of William of New Haven, evidently identifying the latter as the William who was bap. at Tharston 1609. The date agrees with the age of William of New Haven, who was 26 in 1635. But this coincidence cannot be regarded in this instance as proof, or as evidence of identity, as there must have been a great many contemporary Williams in England, and there is nothing in corroboration, while the probabilities that WWilliam of New Haven, was brother or near of kin to his fellow passengers of the Planter (ship) are well high conclusive." "John Tuthill came with his brother Henry about the same time, 1635. He was a widower in 1637. After a few years he returned to England, where he married a 2nd wife. He settled at Weybread, Suffolk Co., and left descendants there. His brother Henry was of Hingham, Mass., and Southold, Long Island."
