She died in Franklin, Aug. 13, 1869 in her 85th year; nearly the last survivor of the first settlers of Lawsville. She was left a widow with eight children to provide and care for, and as an instance of the toils and privations of pioneer life in the wilderness it is related that once, in company with Mrs. Merriman, she went twenty miles to procure as many potatoes as she could carry on the back of her horse. She lived to see her children all settled in life and the heads of families.
