 "Nathaniel Tuttle, bap. Oct. 1, 1721; Capt.; was an officer in the Rev. Army, which he joined in 1775, having previously made his will, which is in possession of his granddau., Currence Ann Gridley. In July 1775, the selectmen of Woodbury furnished £10 worth of ammunition for the companies under the command of Col. Hinman and Capt. Tuttle that march for Ticonderoga for garrison. In March 1782, he was on committee appointed by the town to take care of the soliders' wives. He m. July 22, 1779, in his 58th year, Currence, dau. of Daniel and Sarah (Tomlin) Squier, b. May 3, 1758, d. June 22, 1819, age 61. He died July 7, 1796, age 74."
