Dec. 4, 1862; m. July 20, 1809, Sheloweth Stow Hall, M.D., b. May 5, 1785 (son of Jonathan Hall, b. June 19, 1759, m. Oct. 12, 1780, Mary, dau. of Aaron and Mary Kimball, b. March 29, 1765.). He studied medicine and surgery and began practice with his preceptor when 19 years of age. After graduating, he removed from Newfane, VT to Fairfax (Franklin Co, VT) in 1807 and became quite celebrated, locally, as a skillful physician; but being good-natured and a little heedless in money matters, he endorsed notes for people and almost as a matter of course, had them to pay and in consequence lost all his property in 1828-19. In 1830 removed with wife and two elder daus. to Detroit, Mich., and engaged successfully in practice of medicine. In 1833 bought land on bank of St. Clair river, St. Clair Co., Mich., and tried farming, without success financially, and in 1837 he returned to Detroit, and practiced medicine when health permitted, which had been broken by farm labor, until his death Feb. 13, 1849, age 64."
