Note: Tuttle's book, Tuttle-Tuthill Lines In America. ~~~~~~~~~ DEATH: Chauncey died 23 Apr 1857 in Chicago, Cook County, IL. (I was not able to find documentation of this death date in Cook County records, however, I did find a Chauncey C. Tuttle who died 23 Apr 1899 in Chicago, age 79, making his birth year 1820. It would appear the Chauncey C. Tuttle who died in 1899 is NOT the correct one since the birth year is off by 17 years.) ~~~~~~~~~~~ 1850 U.S. Census Syracuse, Onandaga County, New York Chauncey Tuttle 36, m, hatter, b-VT A__ Tuttle 30, f, b-NY Willis R Tuttle 20, m, b-NY Josephine Tuttle 14, f, b-NY Chauncey Tuttle 3, m, b-NY 1860 U.S. Census Name: Abbey Tuttle Age in 1860: 37 Birth Year: abt 1823 Birthplace: New York Home in 1860: Chicago Ward 9, Cook, Illinois Gender: Female Post Office: Chicago Household Members: Name Age F R Jackson 30, m, clerk, b-Ireland Frances Jackson 28, f, b-England Fredreka Jackson 9, f, b-NY Geo Jackson 7, m, b-NY Chauncey Tuttle 48, m, hides & wool, b-VT Abbey Tuttle 37, f, b-NY Johannah Honesey 18, f, servant, b-NY 1870 U.S. Census St. Louis, Missouri Chauncey Tuttle 58, m, MO Democrat office, b-VT Abby Tuttle 47, f, b-NY Jessie Tuttle 10, b-IL [In household of daughter, Josephine] ~~~~~~~~~~~ 1885 RESIDENCE: Name: A P Tuttle Gender: Male Residence Year: 1885 Street address: 4047 Old Manchester rd Residence Place: St Louis, Missouri, USA Spouse: Chauncey Tuttle Publication Title: St Louis, Missouri, City Directory, 1885
