 "Daniel Tuttle, b. Nov. 11, 1680; m. Oct. 18, 1711, Ruth, dau. of Ephraim Howe. He settled on lot 16 east side of Main st., Wallingford, Conn. In June 1715 he received by deed from his father a house lot of 1½ acres and other lands in Wallingford. In 1738 his commission as Capt. of So. East Mil. Co. of Wallingford confirmed by assembly. In 1739 he was licensed to keep a tavern. He d. in Wallingford 1748. In 1750 Lieut. Jehiel Tuttle exhibited will of Capt. Daniel Tuttle, dated May 1747, names wf. Ruth; gives eld. son Jehiel £400 besides what he has had; eld. dau. Phebe, wf. of Samuel Miles, £60; Lydia, wf. of Benjamin Culver £40; Eunice £5; Mary £100; Lois youngest dau. £100; Ambrose and Jehiel, exrs.; John Miles, James Miles and Joseph Doolittle, witnesses. Among the signers against Mr. Dana in 1760 were Joseph and Jacob Francis, Joel and Gideon Ives and Daniel Tuttle."
