March 18, 1694; m. Feb. 5, 1717, John Smith, b. June 3, 1693, son of Joseph, Jr. She died about 1734, leaving issue. He married (2) Lydia Fields, and died before 1748, leaving 2 sons by his 2nd marriage, viz., James* and Anthony, and his widow, Lydia, m. Moses Page. In 1748 John and Hannah Rowe, Caleb and Martha Barnes, John and Josiah Smith of Wallingford, Mehitable Smith of East Haven and Job Smith sold right in estate of father, John Smith, to Moses Page. In 1750 same parties sold right in 7th division, laid out to John Newman; Mehitable was then the wife of Jesse Luddington. 1. Hannah, b. 26 Dec 1718, m. 1741 John Rowe 2. Martha b. 17 Aug 1721, m. 28 Jan 1741 Caleb Barnes (A Caleb Barnes married in Cheshire, Conn., December 5, 1776, Lucy Merriman.) 3. Job, b. 10 Nov 1722, m. 1747, Lydia Rowe 4. John,^ b. 30 Jun 1724, of Wallingford, Conn., 1748 5. Mehitable, b. 17 Apr 1726, m. Jesse Luddington 6. Josiah Smith, b. 17 Jul 1728, (d. 7 Jun 1804, age 78--Cheshire Church records) In 1748, formerly of East Haven, now of Wallingford, sold to Moses Page, for £110, right in estate of father, John Smith. In 1756, with brother, John Smith, both of Cheshire, conveyed right in estate of grandfather, Joseph Smith, and grandfather, Samuel Tuttle, Sr. He married Esther Hull. John and Josiah Smith were on the Cheshire tax list in 1762; Jonas Hill afterwards lived on Josiah's place. It is highly probable that he had, smong others, 1. Josiah who married 20 Jan 1779 Thankful Hitchcock, and was father of 1. Merva, baptised 27 Dec 1782; removed to Burton, Ohio 1806 and died there March 21, 1848. 1. Nabby, b. 16 Aug 1805, d. 23 Oct 1806; 2. Harriet E., b. 20 Aug 1807, m. Seabury, son of John and Esther (Cook) Ford, cousin, b. Prospect, Conn., 15 Oct 1801, Yale College 1825; removed to Ohio; Major General of militia; Governor of Ohio 1848-50; died at Burton, Ohio 18 May 1855. 3. Josiah Smith, b. 10 May 1810, 4. Sally R., b. 25 Feb 1815, m. George Bouton. 7. James, b. 4 Aug 1730, d. 1736 of diptheria 8. Lois, b. 30 Sep 1732, died young 9. Ichabod, b. 1734, d. 1736 of diptheria *James Sith, b. May 2, 1738; died in the French war, and in 1761 administration of his estate given to his "father-in-law." Moses Page, and brother, Job Smith; lands div. to his six half brothers and sister, named Job, Hannah Rowe, John, Josiah, Martha Barnes and Mehitable Luddington and to his full brother. ^John married perhaps Mary, daughter of Ephraim and Lydia (Doolittle) Cook, b. April 7, 1728, and had: 1. Martha, baptised Sept. 1748, m. July 24, 1768 Samuel Merriman; 2. Marah, baptised 1731, married November 14, 1771, Ambrose Smith (cousin); 3. Elam, married July 27, 1780, Catharine Hitchcock, who died July 15, 1786."
