  BIO:
 The son of Samuel & Elizabeth (Cleverly) Hotchkiss, he married (1) Mary Pardee on Nov. 29, 1677 at New Haven, (2) Hannah Tittle in 1685 at New Haven, Conn. and (3) Mary Sanford in 1719.

 Ens. Joshua Hotchkiss was twice or more times married. The name of his last wife was Mary Hotchkiss. She died Nov 15, 1787, aged 88 yrs. He died 1788, aged 88 years; he resided in New Haven, and was a leading man there.
  Children:
 1. Mary, b April 30 1679;
 2. Stephen, b Aug 12, 1681, settled in Wallingford, parish of Cheshire;
 3. Martha, b. Dec. 14, 1680, m. Thomas Brooks of New Haven, in 1702, and settled in Cheshire (then Wallingford);
 4. Priscilla, be 1688;
 5. Abraham, settled in Bethany, CT, d. 1702;
 6. Desire, d. 1702;
 7. Isaac, b June 1701. Among the children were Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, all residents of Bethany, as was their father.
 8. Jacob, b Feb 7, 104, remained on the old homestead in New Haven for some time, and subsequently removed to Hamden, one of his sons went to Derby, CT;
 9. John, b Feb 27, 1733; 39 Elizabeth, be Mar 23, 1735; 10. Mary b June 17, 1738.
