 "Hannah Smith, b. 26 Dec 1718, d. 7 Sep 1789, age 71, m. 8 Jul 1742 John, son of Matthew and Rebecca (Mix) Rowe, Jr., b. 1715, d. 11 Jan 1789, age 74 (dropsy), will proved at North Haven 8 Jul 1789, names wife Hannah, Lois Moulthrop, Ezra, John, Matthew, Stephen, Hannah Mallory, and daughter, Mary Holt, who died before her father and name erased by testator.
 Children:
 1. Matthew, b. Feb 1742, d. 20 Sep 1743, age 19 mos
 2. Mary, b. 25 Mar 1744, m. 15 Sep 1766 Michael Todd**, b. 10 Aug 1729 (his 2nd wife), Yale College 1748, d. 1776. He owned property in the West Indies and is called Capt. in record of probate. The widow, Mary, supposed married _____ Holt, and died about 1789; dower divided 1794 to heirs of eldest son, Michael, deceased; Eli, 2nd son, and to Eunice Crafts of VT. In 1801 the remainder of estate of Capt. Michael Todd divided to Dr. Eli Todd and Mrs. Eunice Crafts of VT, Joseph Drake, admr. Son, Michael, was lost at sea on voyage from the West Indies. Children: 1. Eli, b.22 Jul 1769, was left in care of his half-brother, son of his father by 1st marriage; Yale College 1787; M.D.; President of Medical Society of Conn., 1813; practiced medicine many years in Farmington, Conn.; first Supt. of the "Retreat for the Insane" at Hartford, Conn April 1824-1833; died 17 Nov 1833, age 64. "He was the most perfect man I ever knew." (See S.W. Williams' American Medical Biography for further account and for lithograph portrait). He married 9 Aug 1796 Rhoda Hill of Farmington, who died March 1825; married 2nd her sister, Catherine Hill, Nov 1828.
 2. Polly 3. Eunice, married THOMAS PHILLIPS BEARDSLEY, son of Dr. Ebenezer and Martha (Phillips) Beardsley, who died 19 Feb 1893, age 22, leaving all his property to his wife. She married (2nd) SAMUEL CHANDLER CRAFTS (only son of Col. Ebenezer Crafts), b. in Woodstock, Conn. (Windham County) 6 Oct 1768; Harvard College 1790; first Town Clerk of Craftsbury, from 1792 to 1829, 37 years. In 1893 delegate to convention for revising State Constitution; Representative in Vermont Legislature 1796 to 1800; Register of Probate for Orleans District 1796 to 1815; Clerk of the House of Representative 1798 and 1799; member Executive Council 1825-1827; Judge of Orleans County Court 1800-1816; Presiding Judge 1810 to 1816 and from 1825 to 1828; Clerk of the Court 1836-1838; Representative in Congress 1816-1824; Governor of Vermont 1828, and served three years; President of Constitutional Convention 1829; Senator in Congress 1842, died 19 Nov 1853, age 84, in Craftsbury, Vermont (town was named for his father).
 3. Lois, b. 21 Mar 1746, d. 8 Sep 1791, age 45 (consumption), married 10 Oct 1765, Solomon Moulthrop b. 3 oct 1745, son of Ashur and Anna Granniss Moulthrop. He was lost at sea before 1791, as were also his brothers, Levi and William. Children:
