Meriden, Conn., 1856; Treasurer of the Y.M.C. Association; candidate for the Prohibition Party in 1874 for State Senator, and in 1880 for State Treasurer of Conn. He has written and published in a public journal an interesting account of home life in the olden time, from reminiscences and traditions of the old Tuttle house in Cheshire; also a genealogical sketch of the Hubbard family. He greatly aided the compiler at the commencement of this work, in the arduous labor of a multitudinous correspondence. He m. Sept. 18, 1839, BETSEY, daughter of Col. Thomas HUBBARD of Wallingford, b. April 28, 1814; resided West Meriden, Conn. Children: 1. Hattie Winslow, b. in Bristol, Conn., July 28, 1840; resided West Meriden, Conn; 2. Edward Hubbard, b. May 24, 1843, d. May 16, 1868, age 25. He was a bookkeeper and financial manager of a manufacturing establishment in W. Meriden, Conn. and stood so high in the confidence and esteem of his employers and of the entire community that his death called forth a general expression of grief; 3. Mary Ella, b. Nov. 10, 1856; m. Sept. 6, 1882, Rev. William B. Hubbard, pastor of Congregational Church in Chamberlain, Dakota.
