Note: Tuttle, printed & published by Tuttle & Co., Rutland, VT, 1883: p.497 "Salome Tuttle was drowned July 4, 1859, while on a pleasure excursion on Clear Lake, a beautiful sheet of water in Steuben County, Indiana; an adopted daughter and nine other persons shared her fate. Her husband and her sister, Vesta, were of the party but were rescued and resuscitated after remaining some time unconscioius."
