 "Leonard Royce Tuttle, b. Sept. 3, 1821; m. in Delaware, Ohio, Nov. 20, 1844, Emily Fidelia Howe. He learned the printing business, but devoted most of his time to teaching bands and to music as a profession. As a teacher of military bands, he was considered as good as any in the state of Ohio. He went with his band into the Union army, and contracted the disease (dropsy) of which he died, at Springfield, Ohio, Sept. 1, 1867."
