 "Robert Gaius Tuttle, b. 1817; in 1864 elected Sheriff of Caldwell Co., N.C., and after holding the same office for 16 years was re-elected in Nov., 1880. He is the most popular man in the county, and took the office to gratify his many friends who, to use their own expression, "never tire of Old Bobby." He is the owner of a valuable estate; married 1840 Lucinda Pratt."
