Tuttle, of New Haven, died in Southbury, Conn., March 14, aged 56. He had been a highly respected member of the First Methodist Church of New Haven for nearly thirty years, always at his post, faithful in the discharge of duty. He was one of the founders of the West Chapel-street Methodist Episcopal Church, organized some three years ago. Four years ago he suffered the loss of a beloved Christian companion, and, being naturally of a retiring disposition, he yielded to the pressure of grief weighing so heavily upon him, rendering him incapable of attending to his business, and he gradually failed until death released him from his sufferings so peacefully that a relative sitting by his bedside and holding his hand knew not when he breathed his last. Truly his end was peace.
